Okay, I have to share this because it is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen, no joke. You don't really need any prior knowledge whatsoever other than the fact that Kirk and Spock had been separated for a while before this.

THEY ARE SO AMAZING, THESE TWO. I am a convert, I think.

Additionally, this here picture makes my life. I'd like to just go ahead and admit right now that I find forty-odd-years-ago Shatner hot. KIND OF ASHAMED, but it can't be helped. It, uhh, doesn't help that pinstrip suits are kind of a kink of mine.

As should be obvious at this point, I am getting dragged into the land of Star Trek: The Original Series. THIS IS ALL [info]nest's FAULT. I have seen three full episodes (with plans to see all of it eventually), watched way too many clips on YouTube, and scoured devart for both TOS and 09 fanart. How did my life end up like this.

In other news, I bought this month's ガンガン (the monthly publication that Fullmetal Alchemist chapters come out in) because the free item that came with it was a Fullmetal Alchemist pencil case. AWWWW YEAH. It is red and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had Ling on it. No Hughes, Kimbley, Greed, or Havoc, though. But man, I am way too excited for something like this. Honestly, this stuff is made for Japanese middle school boys to buy and then show off to all their friends so that they all go buy it too -- and here I am, a 20-year-old college student getting all psyched about a pencil case.

Life is strange.

Lastly, BRB GOING TO TOKYO. The whole gang (aka [info]evildrew, [info]endless_abyss, [info]lacidiana, and [info]pandaheero) is coming to visit me and to sightsee, so I'm going with [info]nest to meet up with them there. VERY MUCH EXCITED FOR THIS, it has been too long without my nakama. :(

You know, it's pretty cool being able to do rough translations of bits of raw manga chapters. It's not much, but even getting a gist of what's going on is pretty awesome.

On that note, I am caught up with the FMA manga, and man, shit went down. I'm really excited to see where things go from here.

Okay, going back to six icons wasn't too painful this time for some reason. I won't question it. I'll just think back to those days of three icons and count my blessings.

I'm at school again, and not entirely happy about it. I don't mind being here, but the fact that I have to go to class tomorrow is what bugs me. (Also, one of my classes is in the building that is the absolute farthest from here that it can be, and I have to get there from another class in 10 minutes. Why.) Though I'm really excited about my Narratives of War class, since I'm interested in war from a psychological aspect, and enjoy reading and writing about it. (This is why MGS fandom was so fun. FMA too, for that matter.) It's one of those things that I like in fiction, but not in reality. We're reading The Things They Carried (among other things), which I'm looking forward to since two of my suitemates swear by it. And the professor is actually the same woman who taught my video game seminar last year, so that's cool.

I'm doing pretty well getting over my cold. My nose is still bugging me, but I can breathe so that's all that matters. Oh, and it turns out I'm going to this concert next week with all three of my suitemates. I wasn't planning to originally because of the cost, but my mom urged me to go, so yes!

I went ahead and downloaded the first episode of Profit because I'm curious. I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to watch it, though, since I want to do so with [info]lacidiana and she's busy with schoolwork. I might give my thoughts when I do, though.

Man, I felt like I had a lot more to say, but I guess not. Hope everyone had a good Sunday!

I voted today! This was exciting. And I put my "I Voted" sticker next to my "Vote Petrelli" sticker on my mini fridge.

I had to go to the financial aid office today and the people there were really nice. ;__; It made me happy.

Re House: that may have been the gayest episode of all, and that's saying something. Holy crap.

Anyway, more meme:

Name seven of your RP characters.
1. Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist)
2. Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
3. Guy Cecil (Tales of the Abyss)
4. Raiden (Metal Gear Solid)
5. Peter Petrelli (Heroes)
6. Zack (Final Fantasy VII)
7. Midvalley the Hornfreak (Trigun Maximum)

Answer these questions. )

I've decided to give in and make a [info]damned friends filter. People who are in the game go in it, of course, though if anyone who isn't in the game wants on the filter (for some reason...?), let me know.

Questions and answers from it, with the names filled in! )

And that's that. I got tagged for another meme by [info]the_demon_yuber, so here goes. I've done this one before, so I'm going to try to think of ones I didn't do last time.

Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

1. I shower at night. I've pretty much always done this because I like to go to sleep clean, but the more shameful reason is because waking up early to shower just isn't happening. I will do whatever I can to get myself more sleep. And yet I end up staying up later than I should, anyway.

2. I'm really meticulous about planning out my homework. Most of my work is reading assignments, so I figure out how many days I have to read X amount of pages, and then do the math. It means I do homework every day (even Fridays, boo), but it's a better setup in the long run, I think. I'll even do this with writing papers (tell myself I need to write however many pages a day, etc.) This really only started in college, though.

3. I drink a lot of Coca-Cola. Like, a lot. It's kind of scary. I've been doing my best to drink more water and tend to take bottles of it with me to class, but I pretty much drink Coke with every meal. Err, well, not breakfast, but that's because I don't eat breakfast. (That goes along with the whole getting-as-much-sleep-as-I-can thing.)

4. I move a lot in my sleep. I have to take my roommate's word on this one, but the fact that my covers are always in different states of disarray in the morning makes it pretty believable. I'll scrunch up into corners, move my covers around weirdly, etc. When I was younger I used to punch people in my sleep. (Ask [info]bleupanpan, and probably [info]nanceinsnow too. 8D)

5. Sometimes I'll make up random songs about random things and sing them at my friends (only the people who know me really well and will tolerate my insanity). Not, like... long, well-thought out songs, but just a few words sung over and over again. I could give examples, but it'd be kind of embarrassing.

6. I hate leaving things unfinished, be it schoolwork, a video game I'm working on (of which there are so many now, auuugh, Persona 3), a fanfiction I'm working on (Last Words, I will get back to you :|), etc. This is why, sometimes, when I get enough into a game, I can't stop playing it at every moment possible until it's done. Same with writing a fic or whatever.

7. I used to (when I was first starting out on LJ) look at other people's LJ entries by going down my list of friends and looking at each person's journal individually. This obviously took way more time than just looking at my flist would have, but... I think I didn't really know how that worked. Liz bugged me and bugged me about it until I figured it out and... haha, yeah, feel kind of idiotic about that now. (I can be kind of stubborn about stuff like that sometimes.)

8. I played soccer through AYSO for... four or five years? One of those years, my team was really good and we won our... division or whatever? We lost at area (is that what the next one is? I can't remember), but I still got a big trophy out of it. Another year my team sucked and I think we lost every game, except for maybe one? I played goalie for a while, but then I got really sick of it and stressed out by it, so I played left halfback, and then left forward. Coaches were pleased by the fact that I could kick with my left foot. :D I stopped after freshman year of high school because it was too time-consuming. And I'm lazy. :\

OH, and I'm not tagging. 8D Do it if you want?
